Joyson Electronics Secures RMB 15 Billion Global Orders, Achieving Major Breakthroughs in Cross-Domain Integrated CCUs

As an increasing number of automakers mass-produce the new-generation “central + zonal control architecture”, the market opportunity for cross-domain integration has arrived. On September 15th, Joyson Electronics announced that it had secured new project awards for automotive intelligence from two leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The company will globally supply these two top OEMs with products including Central Computing Units (CCUs) integrated with intelligent driving, connected car technology, and smart cockpits, as well as connected car systems. According to the customers’ plans, the total order value for the full lifecycle of the projects is expected to reach approximately RMB 15 billion, with mass production scheduled to commence in 2027.

Notably, in recent years, Joyson Electronics has continuously won global orders for automotive intelligence products such as Central Computing Units (CCUs) and connected car systems from multiple leading automotive brands. Among these achievements, Joyson Intelligent Connectivity, a subsidiary of Joyson Electronics, has secured an order for over one million units of its nZone series zonal controllers from a well-known domestic new energy vehicle brand, and is currently delivering the products in large-scale mass production. This signifies that this traditional Tier 1 giant has become a key player in the global leading echelon of intelligent driving.

Currently, the automotive industry is accelerating into the era where “AI defines cars”, and the global competition in automotive intelligence has shifted from the upgrading of single functions to the comprehensive reconstruction of full-domain capabilities. Going forward, cockpit-driving integration, chassis-intelligent driving integration, and multi-domain collaboration will emerge as new market opportunities. Tier 1 manufacturers that have already achieved major breakthroughs have undoubtedly seized the first-mover advantage in the market.

01 Securing Consecutive Orders: A Traditional Automotive Tier 1 Writes a New Chapter

Since the beginning of this year, a growing number of new car models—such as the Xiaomi YU7, Leapmotor L90, Leapmotor C10/C16/C11, and Geely Galaxy A7—have fully adopted the new-generation “central computing + zonal control architecture”. For instance, the Leapmotor C10/C16/C11 are equipped with Leapmotor’s LEAP 3.5 centrally integrated electronic and electrical architecture, consisting of an integrated cockpit-driving central domain controller plus three integrated zonal controllers.

On one hand, the automotive industry has entered the era of intelligence 2.0, and OEMs’ demands for cost reduction and efficiency improvement have become increasingly intense. This has further driven the accelerated mass production of centralized vehicle electronic and electrical architectures represented by cross-domain integration.

On the other hand, the rapid increase in the adoption of smart cockpit domain controllers and the widespread development of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) have laid a solid foundation for cross-domain integration, typified by cockpit-driving integration. Taking smart cockpit domain controllers as an example, data from High-Tech Intelligent Vehicle Research Institute shows that from January to June 2025, the delivery volume of passenger vehicle models equipped with standard-fit cockpit domain controllers in the Chinese market (excluding imports and exports) reached 3.8996 million units, a year-on-year increase of 51.68%, with the pre-installation penetration rate further rising to 36.80%.

Against this backdrop, major automakers have shifted to the new-generation central computing + zonal control architecture. Tier 1 manufacturers represented by Joyson Electronics, leveraging their comprehensive advantages in technology, cost, and services, have successfully secured orders from multiple leading customers and taken the lead in capturing the cross-domain integration market.

Over the past few years, Joyson Electronics has been deeply engaged in automotive intelligence businesses such as intelligent driving, cockpit-driving integration, and connected car technology, while continuously maintaining technological sensitivity and leadership in segmented tracks. It is understood that Joyson Electronics has not only completed the layout of domain controller products including cockpit, driving, body, and zonal controllers (ZCUs) but also developed cross-domain integration products. These include cross-domain computing platforms based on single chips and cockpit-driving integrated Central Computing Units (CCUs), enabling multi-domain integration of the body domain, gateway domain, cockpit domain, and driving domain.

Currently, Joyson Electronics is also developing products such as the new-generation integrated cockpit-driving “High Performance Vehicle Computer (HPVC)”, 5G connected car products, and zonal controllers. It is evident that standing at the new starting point of the next cycle of vehicle intelligence, Joyson Electronics has made significant progress in the new round of technological transformation.

02 Localized Adaptation to Accelerate Global Automotive Intelligence Development

As a world-leading provider of intelligent automotive technology solutions, Joyson Electronics possesses the advantage of a “Local for Local” global layout. This enables it not only to serve the intelligent upgrading of Chinese automakers but also to empower overseas automakers with advanced technologies and products from the Chinese market.

According to data, Joyson Electronics has 23 production bases and 7 R&D centers worldwide. This network not only allows for emergency order responses within 48 hours but also effectively meets the regulatory requirements of overseas markets. Precisely because of this, the customers for Joyson Electronics’ automotive intelligence business include not only well-known domestic and international leading automakers but also new car manufacturers. The company is also collaborating with partners to expand China’s intelligent driving assistance capabilities to the global market.

At the same time, Joyson Electronics continues to advance localized adaptation solutions for its intelligent business in major global automotive markets. For example, to meet the needs of different global markets and vehicle models, the company has launched intelligent driving assistance domain controller products based on various chip platforms. Among these, as early as 2023, Joyson Electronics launched one of the world’s first intelligent driving assistance domain controllers, the nDriveH, based on Qualcomm’s second-generation Snapdragon Ride chip platform. Designed with deep software-hardware integration for integrated parking and driving functions, this product boasts a chip computing power of up to 200 TOPS and supports full-scenario functions for L2++ to L4 level intelligent driving assistance.

Additionally, it is worth noting that while cooperating with multiple domestic chip companies, Joyson Electronics has also made strategic investments in intelligent driving assistance chip firms and developed high-level intelligent driving assistance domain controllers based on mainstream market chip platforms. For instance, Joyson Electronics has established cooperative partnerships with Momenta, Qualcomm, Horizon Robotics, Black Sesame Technologies, and Huawei, while making forward-looking layouts for products such as cockpit-driving integration, integrated parking and driving, and internet of vehicles (IoV).

Furthermore, to meet the data transmission speed and bandwidth requirements of future high-level automotive driving assistance and high-speed in-vehicle connectivity, Joyson Electronics is also actively researching and exploring the application of optical modules in automobiles.

As is widely known, the Chinese government is actively encouraging and advancing pilot programs for the access and road operation of intelligent connected vehicles, with conditional approval for the production access of L3-level vehicle models. This will facilitate the industrial application and popularization of intelligent driving assistance and connected car technologies, unlock the consumption potential of new energy vehicles, and drive the growth of relevant market demand. This also means that as the penetration rate of driving assistance continues to rise, Joyson Electronics is expected to gain more market opportunities amid the changes in the global automotive intelligence market.
